The Role

To justify/authorise and perform Radiographic examinations, providing direct care and a high quality diagnostic imaging service for the management of patients referred from clinicians and other referrers in NHS Lanarkshire.

Supervise Radiographers and SHCSW ensuring continuity of service delivery.

What

we’ll need you to bring
  • Registered radiographer with valid HCPC registration
  • Educated, working, operating at degree level
  • Postgraduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates required breadth of knowledge to lead safely, effectively and efficiently
  • Further education and evidence of continuous professional development in area of speciality including study days, courses, postgraduate qualification
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality/area of practice
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent team working skills and ability to motivate others and work using initiative
  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Basic IT skills
  • Ability to participate in Out of Hours working
  • Overseas applicants - Please note being a registered Radiographer with valid Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration is essential to be considered for this role
It would be great if you also have
  • Further education/evidence of continuous professional development in area of speciality including study days/courses/postgraduate qualification.
  • College of Radiographers IV injection certificate
  • Training on relevant equipment
  • Training on Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000
  • CT, mammo or angio experience
  • Clinical experience at radiographer grade with proven competencies in applying theory to practice
  • Ability to train student radiographers

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro‑rata.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Radiology within University Hospital Monklands.
