Group Financial Accountant
Location: Airdrie, Scotland, United Kingdom

Are you a proactive and detail-oriented accountant looking for a role where you can make a real impact? Our client, a well-established company in the food production sector, is seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join their finance team and play a pivotal role in supporting strategic financial initiatives across the group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely group financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and relevant regulations.
  • Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring all documentation is prepared.
  • Compile financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support management in decision-making.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for strategic planning.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting and reconciliations to maintain group-wide accuracy.
  • Develop and implement financial controls and processes to enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Support subsidiary companies with accounting queries and guidance on policies and practices.
  • Assist in continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes.
Requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, UK GAAP, and reporting standards.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, audit management, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills to work with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the food or FMCG industry is desirable but not essential.
Working Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, standard office hours
