RVS is situated on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta including the Siksikaitsitapi (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Amskapi Pikuni), the Tsuutina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations (Bearspaw, Chiniki, Goodstoney), and the Rocky View Métis District.
As a rapidly growing school division in Alberta, Rocky View Schools (RVS) supports the educational needs of more than 29,000 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in 53 schools to ensure they learn, belong and succeed.
The Opportunity
RVS invites applications for  S  ubstitute Teachers for the  school year.
Substitute teachers are called to substitute teach on an as-needed basis at any of our schools. You must be available to work throughout the  school year, be accessible by telephone and internet, and provide your own transportation.
No interview is required to be added to the substitute teacher list. A positive reference letter received will be the approval to be placed on the substitute teacher list. Please ensure a professional letter of reference is attached to your job application, from your most recent supervisor, relevant to the job opportunity, written on company letterhead, signed and dated within the past 18 months.
Successful candidates will possess:

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial environment, with all members of the learning community
Understanding of and commitment to a teaching style congruent with RVS' vision, mission, and beliefs
Strong pedagogical understanding as it relates to a variety of curricula
Ability to quickly engage students in their learning while ensuring a classroom climate of respect and safety
Substitute Teacher Expectations:
There is no minimum day availability required to be a substitute teacher with RVS
There is no minimum geographical area selection required
Substitute Teachers are now eligible to access the supplemental benefits package at their own cost.
Pre-employment Requirements

The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment.
Applicants must provide a professional letter of reference, attached to the job application, from their most recent supervisor, relevant to the job opportunity, written on company letterhead, signed and dated within the past 18 months.
New/Recent Graduates Only :
In lieu of a reference letter please submit your final practicum report.
The successful can  didate must possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate and provide Human Resources with an original of their Teacher   Qualifications Service (TQS) document.
