Psychiatric Intake RN - Full-time Nights, 7pm-7am – Since 1991, Aurora Pavilion Behavioral Health Services (as part of Aiken Regional Medical Centers) has provided care for emotional and behavioral disorders, and for individuals with alcohol and substance use disorders. The 62-bed facility is on the campus of Aiken Regional Medical Centers and is accredited by The Joint Commission. A multidisciplinary team (psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, clinicians, mental health technicians, and recreation therapists) supports high-quality care.

Aiken Regional Medical Centers is a 273-bed acute care facility located in Aiken, South Carolina, serving the community since 1917 and recognized for treatment of heart-related conditions. • Admissions Clinician is responsible for conducting mental health assessments, communicating with psychiatrists to determine level of care, facilitating admissions and referrals to/from other agencies and treatment centers, conducting pre-certifications and utilization reviews, and fostering positive relationships with all referral sources.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication to assure accurate coordination of care.
• Address needs of telephonic callers seeking assistance.
• Perform level of care mental health assessments.
• Document in the electronic medical record.
• Coordinate patient care with internal and external providers.
• Maintain department records/statistics.
• Complete pre-certifications and utilization reviews as needed.
• Participate in patient safety activities.
• Receive and document physician orders related to admissions and/or intake patients.
• Provide appropriate medical treatment within the scope of practice for an RN.
• Document and coordinate external transfers via MOT for patients experiencing a medical emergency in intake.
• Indirect report by CNO.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Nurse Degree from an accredited university.
• Registered Nurses (RNs) encouraged to apply.
• Minimum one year experience in a mental health setting performing assessments.
