Job Family DescriptionProject management personnel plan, monitor and manage internal projects from initiation through completion. Program management personnel manage programs responsible for the execution of multiple projects or sub-projects. They secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes. They manage projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.
Discipline DescriptionIn construction project management, individuals are responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of construction services and projects within the organization. They lead teams, manage resources, and facilitate communication among stakeholders to achieve project goals efficiently. Project managers use formal project management tools and methodologies, such as P6 scheduling tools.
TypicalDuties & Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction and function as the central point of contact regarding the planning of engineering, procurement, and construction of several multi‑million‑dollar projects for SRNS Project Delivery Organization. Manage established project costs, schedule, and technical baselines and provide effective management of project staff and matrix personnel to control baselines. Establish baseline schedules and costs for the current work year plan, annual operating plan and five‑year budget baseline for assigned projects.
Develop Life‑Cycle scope, cost, and schedule estimates for projects consistent with DOE funding guidance and project scope. Ensure projects are managed in accordance with DOE Order requirements and Regulations. Utilize input from senior managers, program managers, and plan staff to plan and develop annual manpower forecasts, salary forecasts, and personnel evaluations. Responsible for assuring award fee items are resolved within allotted time.
Negotiate program priorities with regulatory agencies and obtain approval of regulatory documents, innovative technology, and remedial actions. Initiate and deliver concise and accurate oral and written presentations to internal and external customers on project status, changes, and alternative approaches. Manage project efforts to ensure project progress is within schedule, cost, technical, environmental, and legal baselines. Ensure timely submittal of all required progress and status reports.
Establish and monitor productivity improvement goals and implementation plans by evaluating DOE reviews and audit, assigning sponsors, and tracking progress. Act as technical project management advisor to assigned project management teams, peers, less experienced project managers, and SRS senior management, and external customers.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role
