Engineering Technician

The Engineering Tech supports manufacturing operations by executing engineering, quality, and lean initiatives across assembly, machining, stockroom, and shipping areas.

This role combines technical expertise with continuous improvement skills to ensure efficient production processes, quality standards, and lean transformation goals.

• Execute special projects assigned by Engineering, Quality, or OpEx leadership.
• Analyze production data, scrap issues, test logs, and productivity metrics; recommend corrective actions and improvement ideas.
• Develop and maintain assembly procedures, operational sheets, and work instructions.
• Perform basic mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance as directed.
• Support lean initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S, and waste reduction projects.
• Initiate and create production procedures, including SOPs.
• Evaluate parts/components using quality control methods and equipment.
• Compile and print dispatch reports; determine bill of materials for assembly analysis.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Obey all safety rules and stop work if continuing is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition. Report all safety concerns immediately.
• Train and assist team members on manufacturing processes and lean practices.
• Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; alternatively, an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years' experience, or 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Knowledge of basic electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics.
• Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to set up and operate a variety of assembly and test equipment within the prescribed procedures and standards.
• Ability to teach and train others as needed.
• Familiarity with lean tools and techniques (e.g., 5S, value stream mapping).
• Developing procedures and work instructions.
• Team-oriented mindset with problem-solving skills.

• While performing duties you may be required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist and/or lift up to 40 pounds throughout an entire shift. May be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week based on production needs.
• Exposed to manufacturing plant conditions and elements including but not limited to noise, dust, dirt, oil, and grease.
• PPE's will be required including safety glasses, ear plugs, hand protection and/or safety shoes.
• May be required to work at different workstations as determined by business needs.
