Job Description
Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking an experienced professional to join our Operations and Facilities organization. The Operations and Facilities Supervisor – Shielded Cells provides daily support and guidance to the Shielded Cells. Candidates should be familiar with DOE and SRNL internal procedures and policies for conduct of operations, and the planning and execution of maintenance work activities in an operating National Laboratory that supports Nuclear, Industrial, and Commercial missions.
Responsibilities- Supervises the daily activities of Shielded Cells and support team members.
- Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors.
- Performs person-in-charge (PIC) duties including walkdowns, task previews, pre‑job briefings, post‑job reviews, and deconfliction of work activities.
- Problem solving is guided by policies and procedures; receives guidance and oversight from manager.
- Follow written protocols and standard operating procedures meticulously.
- Design/modify/mockup laboratory equipment, allowing for remote operation in a hot cells environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure tasks and projects are completed efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations within the laboratory setting.
- HS (or Equiv) and 1‑3 years of experience leading teams or small groups in an industrial or laboratory setting.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required.
- Strong ability to follow written directions and standard operating procedures.
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy in record‑keeping.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- AS/AA preferred in Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical degree.
- Experience in DOE National Laboratory setting and conduct of operations.
- Good knowledge of scientific, engineering, and nuclear process principles.
