Overview
BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 company, is seeking a CNC Process Manufacturing Engineer for our Combat Missions manufacturing site in Aiken, South Carolina. Our employees work on the world’s most advanced combat vehicle systems, from the M109A7 Mobile Howitzer to the Amphibious Combat Vehicle, developing technology of tomorrow while delivering the most cutting‑edge equipment available today.
Responsibilities- Support combat vehicle production focusing on CNC programming and process development.
- Lead a diverse team of talented professionals in a fast‑paced, challenging environment learning and growing as you participate in the mission to support our Armed Forces.
- Provide production floor support, review and implement engineering design changes, develop manufacturing processes, and write CNC programs using Siemens NX and Mastercam.
- Act as a Project Leader during equipment installations and provide key input into Capital Project Implementations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or closely related degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years experience with Master Cam and NX CNC programming software.
- Applicable programming experience on CNC Vertical, Horizontal and Multiaxis machining centers.
- Experience using 3D CAD software such as PTC Creo and proficiency in optimizing cutting tools for ferrous and nonferrous materials.
- Strong safety principles and proven ability to coordinate multiple priorities to achieve deliverable deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers and a self‑starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite and current computer applications.
- Knowledge of inspection processes and ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, JBA).
- Experience with Vericut, multiple machine controller interfaces, metallurgy, welding and manual machining processes.
- Experience supporting engineering in a prototype or production environment where weldments and fabrication of machined parts, assembly and integration of subsystems on vehicles is performed.
- Experience working with military ground vehicles and familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards.
Full‑Time Salary Range: $107,359 – $182,510
