Reporting to the Department Chair of Welding and works with both adjunct and full-time faculty to ensure the coordination and assurance of lab readiness for Technical Education labs as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform installation, repair, and setup of training devices as needed.
Inventory and maintain lab supplies by course. Prior to semester starting, ensure all needed items for the upcoming semester are available by class, as provided by the program instructor.
Perform periodic maintenance of lab equipment as directed by the dean and/or instructor.
Assist in organization of labs, setting up storage areas, and labeling training devices.
Set up lab scenarios as directed by the instructor to ensure that all training equipment works properly before and after the lab.
Maintain lab appearance (touch up painting, lighting, organization, etc.)
Coordinate all building maintenance and track to completion.
A high school diploma or GED and one (1) year of related technical experience required.
Experience working in a team environment, performing all work with a high degree of industrial safety using sound judgment, and excellent written and communication skills as well as the ability to work independently, and organize multiple tasks are essential. Ideal candidate would have a working knowledge in most of the following areas: working in a team environment, adhering to work list and providing feedback on status of projects, functional testing of lab equipment, performing minor repair of malfunctioning lab equipment or arranging for vendor support to fix inoperable lab equipment, inventory controls and supply requisitioning, setting up equipment for labs in all aspects of the department, implementing newly acquired materials into the labs of choice, and organize supplies and equipment.
A certificate in Welding Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology or related discipline preferred.
