Overview
Description This position performs the duties of the court bailiff and is in attendance for scheduled Circuit Court, Grand Jury, and Civil hearings, and for Master-in-Equity Foreclosure sales, workers’ compensation hearings, and CDV Court as needed.
Responsibilities- Courtroom Support – Bailiffs are required for hearings for Grand Jury, civil hearings, master-in-equity foreclosure sales, CDV court, workers’ compensation hearings, and all other scheduled Circuit Court dates. The Bailiff provides assistance to judges before, during and after court sessions as required.
- Courtroom Management – This position prepares the judge’s chambers, courtrooms, jury assembly room and jury rooms with appropriate supplies and light housekeeping tasks to prepare the rooms for the day’s business. This position calls the Court to order for each session and is responsible for maintaining order and controlling the crowd during the proceedings.
- Jury Management – This position ensures that jurors remain sequestered as orders and is responsible for escorting and/or transporting jurors to meals, to their cars, and any other place they need to go as necessary.
This position reports to the Chief Bailiff but takes direction from the judges as well. Generally, the work is routine in nature. The major challenge for this position is ensuring that jurors are safe and that proceedings are not interrupted by the public. This position is an individual contributor. This job has specific physical requirements such as lifting, driving, and the ability to travel.
The job includes lifting up to 20 pounds.

Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment. - Minimum Level of any Required Qualifications, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations, or any Relevant Knowledge, Job Skill or Equivalent Experience.
