Temporary Store Sales Associate

Responsible for providing superior customer service and support for a retail store environment.

• Assist customers by directing them to products, explaining product features and benefits, and using sales techniques such as suggestive selling to secure maximum sales.
• Price merchandise, stock shelves—unloading products from pallets when necessary, and perform housekeeping duties to maintain a good store appearance.
• Pull merchandise from shelves or stockroom to fill customer orders.
• Assist with store merchandising in accordance with store standard guidelines.
• Resolve all customer service issues quickly and tactfully.
• Complete daily reports.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous sales experience preferred.

• Ability to correspond with customers in person and over the telephone.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs, occasionally while on a ladder.
• May be exposed to fumes and odors on occasion.
• Read and understand product labels.
• Must be able to work Saturdays/Sundays and holidays; additional overtime may be required.
• Perform other duties assigned by Manager.

• The position requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as shipment or record boxes. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
• The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, carts, or machines; with irritant chemicals. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields.
