Director of Data Engineering & Architecture

Work Model:
Hybrid – On-site in Ahmedabad 1–2 days per Month

We are seeking an experienced Director of Data Engineering & Architecture to lead the design, scalability, and evolution of our enterprise data platform. This role is critical to ensuring our Snowflake-based architecture supports high-concurrency, customer-facing applications while being future-ready for AI/ML use cases.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on architectural leader (Player–Coach) with deep Snowflake and AWS expertise, proven team leadership, and experience operating at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Platform Scalability

Own and evolve Snowflake data architecture to support high-volume, high-concurrency workloads
Design scalable, cost-efficient, and performant data systems
Ensure the platform is 'AI-ready' for advanced analytics and ML use cases

Cloud & Integration (AWS)

Architect and optimize integration between Snowflake and AWS services
Ensure optimal data movement, latency, security, and cost efficiency

Advanced Analytics & Data Sharing

Enable secure data sharing across internal and external platforms
Drive adoption of modern data capabilities such as Snowpark, ML integrations, and advanced analytics

Leadership & Team Management

Lead and mentor global data engineering and architecture teams
Drive delivery through effective team and project management
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Security leadership

Governance & Compliance

Ensure data architecture aligns with privacy, security, and compliance standards across regions

Mandatory Requirements

12+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Software Engineering / Data Architecture
Minimum 3 years of recent, hands-on Snowflake experience
3–4 years of practical AWS experience in cloud/data environments
7–8 years of team handling experience, including project and people leadership
Strong architectural decision-making and stakeholder collaboration skills

Good to Have

Experience with Databricks or Delta Sharing
Exposure to AI/ML-driven data platforms
Experience in SaaS, Hospitality, Fin Tech, or high-scale platforms
