Senior Business Intelligence Developer

Description:

The Senior BI Developer (Microsoft Stack) is responsible for designing, building, and managing end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions using Microsoft technologies. The role involves developing robust data models, implementing ETL/ELT pipelines, building interactive reports, and optimizing the organization's data ecosystem to deliver actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Solution Design and Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain data warehouses using SQL Server or Azure Synapse Analytics.

• Build ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Azure Data Factory (ADF), or other Microsoft tools.

• Develop and deploy highly interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.

• Create and maintain tabular and multidimensional models in SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).

2. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.

• Work with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and IT teams, to ensure alignment on deliverables.

3. Data Governance and Quality Assurance:

• Implement data governance best practices, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all BI solutions.

• Write and maintain technical documentation for BI solutions, including data models, ETL workflows, and reporting processes.

4. System Optimization and Maintenance:

• Optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and storage strategies.

• Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues across BI systems.

• Ensure scalability and high availability of BI systems.

5. Leadership and Mentoring:

• Mentor junior developers, fostering best practices in BI development and Microsoft stack usage.

• Lead BI-related projects, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.

Essential

Skills:

BI Tools and Development:

• Extensive experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, visualizations, and report deployment).

• Proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL for querying, database design, and optimization).

• Expertise in SSIS for ETL/ELT processes.

• Strong experience with SSAS, including tabular models and MDX/DAX queries.

Data Platforms:

• Experience with Azure Data Platform components, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Data Factory.

• Data Modeling and Architecture:

• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and star schema design.

• Familiarity with modern data warehousing methodologies, such as data lakehouse architecture.

Preferred

Skills:

• Experience with Azure Dev Ops for CI/CD pipelines in BI solutions.

• Knowledge of Azure Machine Learning, Power Automate, or Power Apps for advanced automation and integration.

• Experience with Microsoft Purview for data governance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in BI development, with significant exposure to the Microsoft stack.

Salary up to 15 LPA based on experience and current salary.

(Working Hours/Timing: 1:30 pm to 10:30 pm 6 months and 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm 6 months due to daylight UK timing)
