Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for a skilled Tax Preparer to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Agoura Hills, California. This role involves preparing and filing various tax returns, analyzing financial documents, and ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional service to clients.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

- Review financial records, income statements, and prior-year returns to verify accuracy and completeness.

- Organize and analyze client tax documents, including W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, and deductions.

- Identify tax-saving opportunities, credits, and deductions while adhering to all regulations.

- Calculate tax liabilities, refunds, and estimated quarterly payments efficiently.

- Communicate with clients to gather missing information and explain tax outcomes clearly.

- Maintain strict confidentiality of client financial and personal information.

- Provide tax planning strategies and year-round guidance to clients.

- Respond to notices from tax agencies and assist clients with audits when necessary.

- Stay informed about updates to tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation.

- Proficiency in preparing individual and business tax returns.

- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.

- Experience with tax preparation software, such as Lacerte Tax Software.

- Ability to analyze financial documents and identify tax-saving opportunities.

- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients.

- High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
