Position: SUMMER SCHOOL INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF ASSISTANTS (GR K-5)
DETAILS:
  • All positions are subject to adequate enrollment and are temporary summer positions
  • No fringe benefits
  • Program location is Mesnier Primary School
  • (1) Instructional Staff Assistant position will also provide office support
  • Summer School employment is a commitment to work all days in the program
Time Frame

Tentative program dates are June 4, 2026
- July 2, 2026 (No School June 19th)

Program is 4 weeks

Grades K-5 will be in session Monday - Friday, 7 hours/day (+ 20 min. lunch)

Instructional Staff Assistants work Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day (+ 30 min. duty free lunch)

Position also works equivalent of 1 day, for pre/post program preparation

Juneteenth on June 19th is a non-work/school day

Dates may be adjusted by administration as needed

K-5 Summer School pay date TBD

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • In addition to a Missouri substitute teaching certificate, one of the following is required:
  • 60 college credit hours,
  • Associate's degree or higher,
  • Missouri Para Pro Assessment passing score (before September 23, 2013),
  • Missouri Paraprofessional Assessment passing score (after September 23, 2013), or
  • Completed Missouri's 20-hour online substitute training program
  • Pursuant to DESE requirements, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) supports the 20-hour substitute training program as an allowable qualification for paraprofessionals who meet the requirements found in the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) (PL 107-110).
    • A bachelor's degree and appropriate Missouri teaching certification preferred
    External candidates must have a resume entered into Unified Talent Applicant Tracking, prior to the closing date, in order to be considered for a position. Cover letters and copies of transcripts are optional. Verification of certification and transcripts will be requested upon hire.

    Current employees must complete an abbreviated summer Unified Talent application, by applying as an internal applicant.
