Freshwater Railway is Southeast Michigan's Regional Rail System. When we say regional, we mean Detroit, Ann Arbor, Port Huron, Flint, Toledo, Howell, Adrian, Jackson, Windsor and all points in between.
There are several components of the Freshwater Railway system, including:
The rail system covers over 350 miles, linking major destinations for education, employment, entertainment, and more. Two main rail lines are:
- Superior Line:
Flint, Auburn Hills, Pontiac, Troy, Royal Oak, Detroit - Huron Line:
Port Huron, Richmond, Mt Clemens, Detroit
Connector buses serve communities without rail stations, providing seamless connections to the rail network. Examples include:
- 930 Lansing, East Lansing, Williamston, Fowlerville, Howell
- 949 Lapeer, Metamora, Oxford, Lake Orion, Auburn Hills
- 988 Fenton, Hartland, Green Oak, Whitmore Lake
Relay buses link Detroit and Ann Arbor to the rail system, making city exploration easier. Examples include:
