OverviewMI Licensed Apprentice Electrician (Renewables, Solar) role requiring basic understanding of electrical systems, ability to read construction drawings, and willingness to work on industrial construction sites and fabrication shops specializing in renewables.
Primary Responsibilities- Practice safety rules.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Safe use of hand and power tools.
- Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
- Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
- Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
- Must work well as part of a team.
- Ability to perform terminations up to 1500V AC and DC.
- Read construction drawings and understand construction specifications.
- Have a basic understanding of electrical systems.
- Able to install underground cabling and conduits.
- Able to run basic electrical test equipment.
- Able to work with, train and mentor helpers.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
- New Hire Orientation Quiz (as applicable).
- Comply with safety and client requirements (e.g., PPE as specified).
- Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol policy and pass required examinations.
- Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces.
- Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials (assistance recommended for heavier items).
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods and work extended hours on uneven surfaces.
- Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing respirator and PPE when required.
- Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops.
- Uneven ground
- Obstructed pathways
- Work at low/high elevations
- Confined work spaces
- Predominantly outdoor work
- Extreme heat or cold
- Humidity, rain, and other weather conditions
- Loud noise from tools and machinery
- Potential chemical exposure
- One (1) to Two (2) years of experience in specified skill.
- Michigan Apprentice Electrician Certified License.
