Description

RN (Part-time, After hours) Job Summary:

Hospice of Lenawee, a 5-STAR Medicare.gov rated hospice, seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse for a part-time, after hours position. The night & weekend RN will provide care to our hospice patients and their families. Home Care and/or Hospice experience preferred but we are willing to train. This role is a calling for someone dedicated to patient-centered care at the end-of-life journey.

  • Part-time (36 hours per biweekly pay period)
  • Nights & Weekend Shift
Requirements

RN (Part-time, After hours) Requirements:
  • Graduate of approved School of Nursing
  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse License
  • BSN degree, preferred
  • CPR certification, required
  • Two years nursing experience in hospice, home health, or oncology nursing, preferred
  • Experience with dying patients and their families, hospice experience, preferred
  • Experience in health care, required
  • Valid driver license and automobile with current insurance
  • Working cell phone
RN (Part-time, After hours) Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provides skilled nursing care based on a compassionate and holistic approach
  • Advocates for pain/symptom control
  • Teaches, supervises, and counsels the patient and family regarding care concerns
  • Maintains close communication and involvement with the attending physician, home health agency, spiritual advisors and other persons that may be participating in the care
  • Performs admission of patient to hospice care when needed
  • Povides nursing care and supports Hospice Home staff when needed
  • Responsible for departing from location within 15 minutes of receiving notification of patient need. If unable, utilizes Back Up Nurse and Supervisor on Call, when appropriate
