Machinist

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking Machinist in Adelphi, MD. The Machinist will fabricate and modify precision components to support ARL programs, working with CNC and manual machines to produce high-tolerance parts. This role requires strong technical skills, creativity, and the ability to work independently on complex assignments.

Candidates must hold an active Secret Clearance to be considered

• Fabricate and/or modify unique precision items for ARL programs.
• Generate machine codes from sketches/drawings to operate CNC mills and lathes.
• Perform manual machining prototype work and minor welding (TIG, stick, oxyacetylene).
• Apply engineering principles to adapt equipment and techniques for custom solutions.
• Hold close tolerances of ±.005" minimum and up to ±.0001" for high-level fabrications.
• Plan project scope with supervisors/customers, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions.
• Prepare cost estimates and ensure data accuracy.
• Work independently with minimal supervision; keep supervisors informed of progress.
• Maintain records of engineering data such as tests and drawings.
• Utilize government tooling and equipment (manual and CNC) on-site.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency in CNC machining and manual machining.
• Experience with CNC mills and lathes using G-Code.
• Skilled in Master
  
  CAM/Solid
  
  CAM software for CNC programming.
• Proficient with HAAS milling and lathe machines.
• Strong shop math skills.
• Ability to work from verbal and written instructions.
• General welding knowledge (preferred but not required).

• Lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
• Stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to twist, bend, and squat periodically.

• Salary Range $65,000 - $72,000 (Depending on Experience).
