HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Physicist to support our work with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD. Work with organizational experts and assist in the performance of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) studies and analyses for Defense Systems. This includes Systems related to new and emerging technologies as well as development of mitigation strategies that can enhance military systems, subsystems, and್ಟ್components, particularly technology insertion and rapid prototyping to enhance the performance of legacy systems.

- Experimental Physics & Thermal Sciences Support
- Support experimental research efforts focused on thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials behavior relevant to Army systems
- Assist with high‑pressure, optical, and thermal characterization experiments, including sample preparation and instrumentation setup
- Perform laser‑based and optics‑driven measurements, supporting alignment, calibration, and data collection
- Data Analysis & Scientific Computing
- Process, analyze, and visualize experimental and simulation data using Python and MATLAB
- Apply statistical and physics‑based methods to interpret results and identify trends
- Support development of scripts and workflows for efficient data post‑processing
- Modeling & Simulation Support
- Assist with molecular dynamics simulations and other computational modeling efforts related to thermal transport and materials properties
- Support execution of simulations on high‑performance computing (HPC) systems and post‑processing of results
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with physicists, materials scientists, and engineers across disciplines
- Contribute to laboratory problem‑solving, experimental troubleshooting, and prototype optimization
- Technical Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations summarizing experimental methods and findings
- Support preparation of research results for internal briefings and external publications
Minimum Qualifications
- 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
- Strong academic foundation in classical mechanics, thermodynamics, quantum physics, electromagnetism, and solid‑state physics.
