Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE Volunteers collaborate with an assigned Program Leader that works with a group of students. This is a volunteer position that is in-person. The student-to-staff ratio is contingent upon CDC guidelines.

• Collaborate with an assigned Program Leader in an in-person setting, maintaining high standards for behavior and safety by implementing the Think Together four core agreements:
  Be safe, Be respectful, Be responsible, Have fun.
• Serve as a positive adult role model through appropriate dress, speech, and attitude.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for students.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices.
• Identify student needs and communicate with the Program Leader and Site Coordinator.
• Participate in staff development activities (bonus at-will opportunity).

• Provide homework assistance and use academic enrichment materials provided by the program.
• Collaborate with a Program Leader who has a group of 20-25 students, implementing classroom strategies.
• Support daily snack preparation, serving, and cleanup.
• Set up, break down, and maintain a clean and orderly site.
• Maintain student safety by supporting the Program Leader.
• Provide learning support and engaging student experiences using program design and curricular models.
• Use engagement strategies to promote positivity and excitement for learning.
• Work collaboratively with team members.

• Arrive punctually and communicate volunteer availability with the Site Coordinator.
• Have knowledge to utilize various digital learning platforms.
• Maintain close communication with the Site Coordinator regarding schedule and potential absences.
• Comply with organization and site policies and follow procedures.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate for a public-school setting.
• Pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting) DOJ clearance.
• Provide negative TB test dated within the last 3 years.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Support English-learner population by being bi-literate (Spanish preferred).

• Standing, walking, sitting, using hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, talking and hearing.
• Ability to lift 10 to 25 pounds.

• Close vision (clear vision within 20 inches).

• Ability to speak or write in a language other than English (Spanish, Vietnamese) is helpful.
