About the Role

We are looking for a leader who can manage a General Merchandise team in a highly active, fast‑moving environment. The team leader ensures product is set, merchandised, priced, signed and available on the sales floor. The leader also manages inventory accuracy, merchandise set‑up, pricing processes, and fulfillment work, while coaching and developing hourly team members.

Responsibilities
  • Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including merchandising, pricing, setting and updating sales floor displays, sampling, promotions and price changes.
  • Educate the team on how operational procedures impact inventory management, store profitability and product availability.
  • Help assess reporting to identify gaps in GM processes and assist in developing a plan for resolution.
  • Lead the daily execution of tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise and putting up promotional signs.
  • Assist with inventory accuracy, merchandise set‑up, maintenance and pricing for all store areas.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations, hold team members accountable, and support compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Lead and demonstrate a safety culture, identify hazards, hold the team accountable for safety expectations and assist with incident response.
  • Model and support physical security processes in the store.
  • Provide guest service support such as back‑up cashier or digital fulfillment, maintaining a compliance culture.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity and ethical conduct, fostering a fair and respectful team environment.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies and all other duties based on business needs.
  • Work a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends.

  • Guest service fundamentals and building a guest‑first culture.
  • Retail business fundamentals: sales trends, inventory management, pricing and promotions.
  • Team leadership: planning workload, coaching, evaluating and retaining talent.
  • Process improvement and workload efficiency.
  • Communication skills and technology operation (handheld scanners, frequency devices).
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lead, hold accountabilities, and communicate with multiple devices.
  • Independent work and team collaboration skills.
  • Prioritization and workload management in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and coworkers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
