DescriptionMedical City Dallas, part of HCA Healthcare, invites nurses to join our seasonal emergency department. The program runs from September 21, 2025 to April 4, 2026, with Seasonal PRN status on a full‑time schedule.

Program Requirements- All seasonal RNs must work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
- Employees may be asked to float to another nearby facility with urgent staffing need.
- Four weekend shifts are required every four‑week cycle.
- During the 32‑week period, employees are required to work two holiday shifts as defined by the Department Manager.
- Staff are subject to first call‑off; there are no guaranteed hours.
- Seasonal staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses or additional benefits.
- Registered Nurses in the Seasonal program receive one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
- Current employees of HWS are not eligible for this seasonal program.
- Shifts may vary based on departmental needs.
- Emergency Department specialty rate: $62 per hour plus applicable differentials.
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with department standards and state regulations. Responsibilities include pain assessment, procedural assistance, patient education, and advocacy for patients, families, and caregivers.
- Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective management.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered and document administration of care promptly.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs proactively.
- Teach patients and families about diagnosis, treatment, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures.
- Educate on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within one year of start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Satori Alternatives Management of Aggression certification within one year of start date.
