Job Summary
Night Auditor is responsible for balancing revenue and expense transactions, handling front desk duties during the overnight shift, ensuring a smooth operation of the hotel at night, and providing exceptional customer service to guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform nightly audit of hotel transactions, ensuring accurate financial balance.
- Check guests in and out, assign rooms, and handle requests efficiently.
- Handle all guest inquiries, providing information about the hotel, its services, and local area.
- Prepare and distribute daily reports to the management team.
- Monitor hotel security during the night and respond to emergencies or disturbances.
- Process all financial transactions—including cash, credit cards, and guest account posting.
- Communicate with the next shift and management team, noting issues or important information.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
- Provide wake‑up calls and other guest services as needed.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of hotel equipment and systems, escalating issues to the appropriate department. >
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a customer service role preferred.
- Experience in accounting or bookkeeping is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in the use of computers and hotel management software.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Stand, walk, and remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Visual and auditory ability to operate office equipment, including computers and phones, and respond to emergencies.
- Perform repetitive motions such as typing and writing.
