Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with insurance carriers, payors, clients, and facilities to maximize payments on accounts.
- Analyze and resolve issues related to denied claims, incorrect insurance information, or other payment discrepancies.
- Review and verify coding for procedures and diagnoses, ensuring compliance with payor-specific guidelines.
- Conduct thorough research and follow-up on outstanding insurance balances to secure timely claim payments.
- Collaborate with managers and directors to address billing trends and implement necessary changes.
- Manage accounts receivable collections, including filing proof of claims when required.
- Uphold organizational standards and foster a positive work environment for team members.
- Prepare appeals and escalate claims to insurance companies for resolution.
- Perform additional duties aligned with the scope of the role as needed. Requirements - Proficiency in medical billing, coding, and collections processes.
- Strong customer service skills and an ability to resolve issues promptly.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Minimum of two years of experience in insurance billing and claims departments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, and other relevant software tools.
- Medical billing and coding certification preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
