Position: Mechanical Engineer (HVAC/R)

The Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer will work within the AIIR HVAC development team, providing product expertise and deep mechanical knowledge that will drive first-of-its-kind HVAC thermal designs that lower acquisition costs, lower lifetime cost of ownership, provide innovative feature sets, and lower energy consumption.

What you will do
  • Lead the mechanical design and development of the HVAC unit
  • Conduct the design and laboratory testing
  • Follow product schedules and work continuously to meet schedule milestones
  • Have a deep understanding of the ASHRAE, AHRI, and UL Standards
  • Work with internal and external resources and companies to bring products to production and implementation
  • Work with advanced simulation teams to develop and interpret the CFD and FEA analysis
  • Collaborate with other individuals in a cross-functional and diverse environment
  • Prepare technical proposal and reports to review and record
What you should have
  • In-depth understanding of refrigeration systems and components
  • Demonstrated Experience developing HVAC unit design, including but not limited to sheet metal, copper tube, cable, composite design
  • Good working knowledge of electrical systems related to power and control
  • Experience developing appropriate documentation
  • Experience in a new product development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing advanced control algorithms
Job Qualifications
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics
  • Familiar with the R&D environment
  • Familiar with HVAC industry specifications, standards, and codes
