Mechanical Engineer
Location:
Addison, TX
This is an onsite position supporting our Engineering team and will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of prototype and production units covering an entire cycle from concept/detailed design to manufacturing products and systems.
Job Responsibilities- Responsible for the mechanical design & development of aerospace prototypes and production units.
- Maintain and support existing product designs and address changes due to end of life components, material obsolescence, and product change requests.
- Review engineering models and drawings and make modifications to existing products.
- Perform detailed mechanical design work including 3D modeling, documentation, HALT testing, support tooling/fixtures.
- Create 2D drawings for all associated components, assemblies, etc.
- Follow department processes and standards and ensure the design functionally meets customer requirements.
- Hands‑on testing of products and design validation documentation.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- 0–3 years of mechanical design experience utilizing sheet metal, machined part, injection molded plastics, metal extrusions, & die casting in an aerospace or military environment.
- Familiarity with 3D CAD modeling software.
- Ability to understand/produce technical drawings and documents for internal and customer use.
- Ability to coordinate with other discipline engineers (EE & SE) within the department to produce multidisciplinary design solutions.
- Ability to report mechanical design status on the assigned tasks whenever asked.
- Solid communication skills in dealing with other engineers, suppliers, etc.
- Familiarity with FAA/Aerospace design requirements is a plus.
$90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
