Accounts Payable Accountant

The Staff accountant works in a team environment and is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing for various client groups.

• Sort and distribute invoices to various departments for payment approvals
• Process weekly expense reports
• Code and enter accounts payable data
• Process weekly checks
• Manage positive pay process for issued checks
• Reconcile, code and process payments for several corporate cards and charge accounts
• Manage and reconcile petty cash
• Correspond with vendors and reply to inquiries
• Manage and process 1099s yearly

• Prepare and submit customer invoices
• Process credits and adjustments to customer accounts
• Post payments to customer accounts daily
• Assist credit manager with collection activities as needed

• B.S. in Accounting or equivalent work related experience
• 1 to 2 years in accounting or finance environment
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Analytical problem solving ability
• Ability to work well under pressure in order to meet various deadlines
• Strong work ethic with an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
• Great communication skills, oral and written
• Time management skills
