QUALIFICATIONS:
- Illinois Administrative Licensure with a type 75 certificate
- Bilingual endorsement
- ESL endorsement or equivalent
- Illinois teacher evaluator qualified, including observation modules, competency skill building, and student growth components
- Strong background in dual language education and serving as an instructional leader
- Highly collaborative style and a strong team and consensus builder
- Collaborate with the District Office Administration to provide leadership of the coordination, planning, and evaluation of the dual language program and EL curriculum, assessment, and services.
- Assist in the coordination of all district and state assessments for the Dual Language and EL programs, including but not limited to English Proficiency assessments.
- Interpret test data, research, new legislation, and state/federal guidelines in terms of program evaluation, development, and compliance.
- Design and plan ongoing professional development opportunities in concert with the Teaching & Learning Department for licensed and educational support staff for all Dual Language and EL Programs.
- Support the evaluation and supervision of Dual Language and EL licensed personnel.
- Collaborate on the selection and/or development of instructional materials and recommend appropriate textbooks and supplementary materials to the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching & Learning to support and enhance Dual Language and EL Programs.
- Consult with school principals and school district-level administrators on an ongoing basis to ensure coordination and articulation of the District's Dual Language and EL Programs.
- Coordinate transition from elementary to middle school to ensure appropriate programming and placement of our EL and Dual Language students.
- Articulate with District 88 to develop and update programming options to best meet the needs of our EL and Dual Language students entering high school.
- In partnership with District 88, coordinate transition from middle school to high school to ensure appropriate placement of our EL and Dual Language students.
- Keep current on all ISBE compliance requirements.
- Oversee the process of completing all compliance documentation to include dissemination of information to families.
- Organize and collaborate with community and parent groups to educate and support the school district's Dual Language and EL Programs.
- Assume such other duties and responsibilities delegated by the Superintendent or Director of Biliteracy.
EVALUATION: Administrator assigned by the Superintendent will serve as the evaluator, with the evaluation incorporating performance goals.
