The Addison Public Library is seeking a customer-focused Youth Services Assistant to help connect patrons with their interests and information needs. Along with providing an exceptional patron experience at the Youth Services desk, you will have the opportunity to provide programming support and assist with promotions and outreach. The Library is currently finalizing a building project and our newly renovated Youth Services department will include a new and dynamic play area as well as plenty of opportunities to interact and connect with patrons.
Weare looking for someone with:
- Passion for working with the public and connecting them to resources.
- Effective, enthusiastic, and respectful communication.
- Proficiency in the use of technology.
- Knowledge of children’s literature and child development.
- Excellent customer service skills with two years of experience.

- LTA or bachelor’s degree preferred; directly related experience and/or enrollment in higher education may be considered in place of the degree requirement.
- Two years of customer service experience is required.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Preference will be given to qualified candidates who are bilingual English and proficient in English and Polish, Spanish or any of the other languages spoken by patrons we are happy to serve.

Schedule will include Monday evenings, Tuesday and Friday daytime hours, and a weekend (Saturday & Sunday) once every four weeks.
$21.81 - $27.26 per hour, depending on qualifications
