The Technology Center of DuPage (TCD) offers DuPage County area high school juniors and seniors 17 career and technical education programs (CTE) as part of their high school curriculum. Its mission is to provide an education environment that supports and encourages individual learning styles, develops occupational skills and professionalism, promotes academic growth, and assists students in discovering their potential. In addition to high school credit, TCD students may concurrently earn dual credit (college credit earned while in high school), by enrolling at no cost with the college during the designated timeframe.

Serving students with innovative and practical learning opportunities, the center specializes in career and technical education. It is dedicated to equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed for both higher education and the workforce. Technology Center of DuPage fosters partnerships with local businesses and industries to create a dynamic learning environment that prepares students for future success.

Principal

The Principal of the Technology Center of DuPage (TCD) provides visionary and innovative leadership that advances high-quality career and technical education aligned with the evolving needs of students, industry partners, and postsecondary institutions. The Principal fosters a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement to prepare students for success in a rapidly changing world of work and learning.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Principal serves as a key member of the TCD administrative team and acts as the intermediary leader between the DAOES Board and Administration and certificated/non-certificated staff, parents, students, partner schools, business and industry partners, and the broader community.

Responsibilities
  • Champion innovation, creativity, and career‑focused instructional practices that align with TCD’s mission of preparing students for high‑skill, high‑wage, and in‑demands careers.
  • Provide strategic leadership that promotes organizational goals related to student achievement, equity, workforce readiness, and staff development.
  • Manage, evaluate, and continually improve systems for school operations, instructional effectiveness, safety, discipline, and culture - ensuring alignment with DAOES and TCD values, policies, and state and federal regulations.
  • Establish and promote high expectations for all students and staff, emphasizing growth mindset, accountability, and adaptability to changing workforce and postsecondary demands.
  • Engage in collaborative partnerships with colleges and universities, partnering high schools, workforce boards, community organizations, and business leaders to enhance learning pathways and align programs with regional and national workforce priorities, including work based learning opportunities across the region.
  • Communicate consistently with key stakeholders;
    Board, staff, administration, dual credit partners, families, partnering schools, business and community partners, and constituents with rental agreements on our campus.
  • Stay informed of emerging trends in education, technology, and industry to guide program innovation and ensure relevance to the current and future occupational landscape.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual operating budget and grant writing, while providing fiscal guidance to ensure responsible and strategic resource allocation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the DAOES Administration.
Curriculum and Instruction
  • Lead the continuous improvement and innovation of curriculum design, ensuring alignment with dual credit, workforce development needs, industry certifications, and postsecondary opportunities.
  • Support instructors in implementing engaging, competency‑based, and project‑driven learning experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem‑solving.
