The Maintenance Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing tire-derived fuel (TDF) production operations at the waste tire processing facility.
This role ensures production targets are met within volume and cost budgets while optimizing equipment performance, maintenance scheduling, workforce supervision, and overall operational efficiency. The position also serves as backup to the Facility Manager when required.
What you’ll accomplish- Operate and oversee mobile equipment and tire shredding equipment.
- Optimize and maintain production and operating schedules for 24/7 operations.
- Ensure equipment is operated to maximize productivity and extend lifecycle performance.
- Manage and schedule continuous plant operations and staffing requirements.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) scheduling.
- Serve as backup to the Facility Manager as needed.
- Maintain and monitor KPIs, including production reports, shift logs, and shredder maintenance documentation.
- Schedule and supervise wear part changeovers and coordinate shredder maintenance and repairs with the Facility Manager.
- Conduct mobile equipment inspections and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Coordinate with third-party transportation teams regarding trailer availability and logistics.
- Address non-routine operational issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Interface with company personnel, operating staff, visitors, customers, and transporters.
- Coordinate personnel training for shredders and mobile equipment task certification.
- Supervise, train, and develop hourly employees to build a high-performing operations team.
- Promote and adhere to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and foster a strong safety culture.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- OR
- 3–5 years of equivalent experience
- Sciences
- Business
- Related Field
- 3–5 years of operational experience in a technical environment related to waste management
- 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience within the industrial maintenance sector
Skills:
- Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project
- SAP experience preferred
- Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators where required.
- Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to successfully pass qualitative and quantitative fit testing.
