The older peoples community mental health team is looking for a nurse associate who has a keen interest or experience in older peoples mental health. We would like to hear from you if you are keen to be part of a service that supports people over 65 years to live well in their homes and in care placement settings.

As a Community Mental Health Nursing Associate you will provide community patient led services and work with older adults over‑65 years who have mental health issues and complex dementia needs. This role is one in a multi‑disciplinary team and you will be a core part of that team. Main duties will include the monitoring of antipsychotics as part of the BPSD pathway, administering depots, completing medication reviews and mental health reviews of people on our caseloads that reside in residential and care homes.

• Provide therapeutic interventions with a service user
• Monitor the condition and health needs of people within their care on a continual basis in partnership with service users, families and carers
• Contribute to ongoing assessment, recognising when it is necessary to refer to others for reassessment
• Perform nursing interventions advocated within the service users care plan
