Position Details
  • Position Title: Medical Assistant
  • Department: Nursing
  • Nature of Position: The Medical Assistant is a member of the interdisciplinary medical team of Central Oklahoma Family Medical Center. The position assists medical providers in the examination and treatment of patients and functions as a liaison between medical staff, health information, lab, and administrative departments.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous clinical experience preferred.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and/or lift for extended periods of time.
Responsibilities
  • Performs routine intake procedures including, but not limited to, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, and blood pressure readings.
  • Assists medical providers with examination and treatment of patients.
  • Provides assistance with administrative procedures required, including patient referral, charting and documentation of activities and phone calls.
  • Demonstrates teamwork and commitment to quality patient care.
  • Attends clinic mandated and departmental in services and trainings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the guidelines set forth by the organization.
