Job SummaryThe Maintenance & Repair Mechanic assists in preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of manufacturing equipment to ensure safe and efficient production operations.
Job Responsibilities- Remove and install machine components to maintain safe and efficient equipment operation.
- Troubleshoot systems to identify machine failures and recommend repair solutions.
- Collaborate with Process Technicians and Operators to understand machine failure causes or component fabrication needs.
- Design, fabricate, and weld machine components or fixtures to support facility equipment functionality.
- Record details of machine malfunctions and required adjustments.
- Conduct test runs of machine adjustments to ensure safety and quality production standards.
- Perform routine analyses and calculations, recommending changes in equipment, products, or test methods.
- Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and safety of maintenance equipment, tools, and work areas.
- Repair building and grounds equipment, fixtures, and tools to ensure employee safety.
- Execute preventive maintenance and inspections on facility equipment as scheduled.
- Recommend changes to the preventive maintenance schedule based on equipment issues and required fixes.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of related experience in a fast‑paced industrial setting; experience with extrusion or injection molding is a plus.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Willingness to attend off‑site training as offered.
- Self‑starter with the capacity to work largely unsupervised.
- Knowledge of power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and multi‑tasking ability.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
- Ability to read/write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Strong electrical and hydraulic skills.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical power transmission systems.
- Ability to read hydraulic and electrical prints as well as mechanical drawings.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
