Loader, Manufacturing ​/ Production, Forklift Operator

Job summary

This 2nd shift position is responsible for the pulling/picking and loading of all outbound shipments and unloading/movement of all inbound deliveries to the facility.

Duties and responsibilities:

* operates a propane sit-down forklift.

* sort shipments for destination and group merchandise to be included with or fulfilled in an order.

* loading of finished materials for transport and unloading of raw materials.

* moving products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.

* inspect the forklift to determine the need for repairs and to guarantee safety.

* verify piece counts on each pallet and compares to label.

* material handling of all products.

* follow shipping work orders.

* other duties as assigned

Required knowledge/skills/abilities:

* excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

* highly motivated with good sound work ethics.

* must demonstrate safe working practices and possess great attention to detail.

* team player able to follow instructions from management and peers.

* ability to learn and operate new equipment.

* ability to use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers).

* strong problem-solving skills and math skills with the capability to calculate square footage and batch size.

Education and experience:

Required:

* high school diploma or equivalent is required.

* minimum of one (1) year previous forklift experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in shipping and receiving.

Working conditions:

* fast paced manufacturing environment, loading dock, and driveways. Will be working in all weather conditions.

* hours: 3pm to 11:30pm

* days: monday through friday
