Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Front Desk Coordinator to join our team in Acworth, GA. This is a full-time, in-person role for someone who is professional, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment. The ideal candidate has strong insurance verification experience, understands HIPAA/PHI requirements, and has basic familiarity with medical coding.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients, check in/out, and maintain a welcoming front office environment
  • Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and confirm visits
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits (copays, deductibles, authorizations, referrals)
  • Collect copays/self-pay payments and provide receipts
  • Maintain accurate patient demographics, documentation, and forms in the EHR/PM system
  • Communicate with insurance companies and assist with resolving coverage and claim-related issues
  • Coordinate with clinical and billing teams to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate information
  • Follow HIPAA compliance standards and protect PHI at all times
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of medical front desk / patient access experience
  • Hands-on experience with insurance verification
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA and PHI privacy rules
  • Familiarity with medical coding basics (CPT/ICD-10 terminology)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
  • Comfortable with EHR/PM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel/Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Behavioral health / mental health clinic experience
  • Prior authorization and claim follow-up experience
  • Payment processing experience (copays/self-pay, refunds)
  • Bilingual a plus
