General Laborer isresponsibleforassistingcontractorsandconstructioncrewswithvarioussitetasks.
Thisroleinvolvesbothmanuallaborandtheoperationofhandandpowertoolstofacilitateconstructionprojects.
Laborersworkoutdoorsinallweatherconditionsandareexpectedtodemonstratephysicalstamina,teamwork,andattentiontosafety Key Responsibilities
- Site Preparation&Cleanup: Remove debris,setupworkareas,andperformgeneralsitecleaningtomaintainasafeandorganizedenvironment
- Material Handling: Load,unload,andtransportconstructionmaterials,tools,andequipmentaroundjobsites
- Support Skilled Trades : Assist carpenters,masons,painters,electricians,andothercraftworkerswiththeirtasks
- Temporary Structures: Assembleanddismantlescaffolding,ladders,barricades,andothertemporarystructures
- Equipment Operation: Operatehandtools,power tools,andsmallmachinerysuchascompactors,forklifts,or generators,followingpropersafetyprotocols
- Manual Labor: Dig trenches,fillorcompactearth,mixandpourconcrete,andperformbasicdemolitionwork
- Safety Compliance: Adhereto
OSHA standards,wearpersonalprotectiveequipment,(PPE) andreportunsafeconditionstosupervisors - Other Duties: Assistwithtrafficcontrol,monitorconstructionprogress,andperformdutiesassignedbysitesupervisors
- Education: Highschooldiplomaorequivalentpreferred,notalwaysrequired
- Experience: Previousconstructionorlaborerexperienceisbeneficialbutentry-levelworkersmayreceiveon-the-job training
- Physical Requirements: Abilitytoliftheavymaterials(oftenover
50lbs),standorwalkforlongperiods,andwithstandextremeweatherconditions - Soft Skills: Teamwork,communication,reliability,problem-solving,attentiontodetail,andastrongworkethic
- Licensing/
Certifications:
Valid driver’slicensepreferred;
OSHAcertificationsorspecializedequipmentlicensesmaybeadvantageous
Constructionlaborerstypicallyworkonoutdoorsiteswithexposuretonoise,dust,andheavymachinery.
