The Senior Staff Account is responsible for preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts, participating in month-end closings and audits, and assisting in financial analysis and reporting. The position is responsible for proper accounting records, ultimately ensuring that reported financial results are GAAP compliant and in line with standard industry practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Be a TPS Brand Ambassador. Contribute to the TPS commitment of fostering a positive culture by encouraging open communication, and maintaining confidential information as required
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring financial records are properly recorded
- Enhance and maintain a documented system of accounting policies, procedures and controls over all accounting transactions and ensure the books and records are kept at a high standard
- Identify opportunities for process improvement to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls
- Support the monthly close process and year end audit
- Support Finance team with analysis of accounting transactions
- Handle other ad hoc projects and requests as needed
- 3+ years of hands‑on corporate accounting experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting and/or CPA a plus
Self‑motivated and able to deliver on detailed tasks - Someone that thrives in challenging environments
- Excellent communication amongst co-workers, management, and external parties
- Attention to detail, deadline oriented, and reliable, with strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment while meeting deadlines
- Expert in Excel and general PC and proficient in Word
- Experience in corporate accounting for a retailer and/or with Great Plains and V360 is a plus
- Ability to work 3+ days/week at the Corporate Office in Acton, MA.
