Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi is looking for a Lifeguard to join our Leisure team.

• Holds a certification in lifeguarding / water rescue and first aid.
• Previous experience in the same role within a resort or hotel environment.
• Guest-focused and passionate about guest service.
• Reliable, alert and able to act accordingly in emergency situations.
• Good communication skills.

• Is responsible for the safety of guests and employees inside designated swimming areas (beach/pool) during posted business hours.
• Must be a certified Lifeguard from a recognized Lifesaving Association with active status.
• Perform artificial resuscitation (mouth-to-mouth) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Knowledge of using AED equipment.
• Must be able to swim 400 m in 8 minutes to align with hotel standards.
• Set up lifesaving flotation devices at the pool and beach; ensure correct flag colors are displayed during business and non-business hours.
• Rescue operations with shoreline equipment ready (surfboard, kayak).
• Maintain First Aid Kit at pool/beach areas.
• Supervise swimming activities and ensure policies and safety procedures are followed.
• Carry Emergency and Operations radios.
• Warn swimmers of unsafe activities and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts to maintain safe pool and beach environments when competing programs require use of aquatic facilities.
• Monitor pool depth, water and air temperatures, wind conditions.
• Keep designated swimming areas free of engines and hazardous equipment (boats, windsurfers, sea bikes, SUP, kayak).
• Administer first aid, rescue distressed swimmers and provide CPR or artificial respiration if necessary.
• Evaluate safety conditions and initiate aquatic emergency action as required.
• Inspect pool and beach facilities, equipment and water quality; aid in cleanliness and chemical testing as directed.
• Supervise and assist in cleaning facilities and maintain records of water tests and incidents.
• Keep swimmers out of boat tracks and other hazardous areas.
• Respond to emergencies within the hotel/resort swimming area.
• Ensure non-water sports or pool activities comply with security rules.
• Provide temporary replacement while in bathroom breaks or lunch.
• Perform duties in accordance with company policies and hotel rules, and follow Fire, Hygiene, Health & Safety guidelines.
• Report hazards and rectify them promptly.
• Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and nametag.
