Job purpose

About The Job Based at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the Sales Department, the Sales Executive - MICE Segment is responsible for generating, developing, and converting business opportunities within the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events market. This role focuses on driving revenue growth through strategic sales activities while upholding the hotel’s luxury service standards. The Sales Executive - MICE cultivates strong client relationships, identifies new business sources, and ensures seamless planning and execution of group events in collaboration with the hotel’s operational teams.

The Sales Executive – MICE reports to the Director of Sales.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct sales calls, client meetings, site inspections, and presentations to showcase hotel facilities and services
  • Maintain an active pipeline and achieve assigned revenue targets for group rooms, events, and related services
  • Manage existing accounts to maximize repeat business, strengthen loyalty, and ensure client satisfaction
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, PCOs, DMCs, event planners, and industry partners
  • Act as the primary contact for MICE clients, handling inquiries, proposals, negotiations, and contract closures
  • Responsible for prospecting new accounts
  • Adhere to the Corporate SOPs
  • Follow up of tentative bookings in the assigned markets
  • Detailed knowledge of competitor set
  • Thorough knowledge of all services provided by the Hotel and all relevant facts and figures of hotel
  • Responsible for timely contracting from the client base responsible for
  • Assist the Director of Sales / Director of Commercial Strategy with the preparation of the annual budget by providing statistics and forecasts of account productions
  • Execute sales actions within set cost budget structure
  • Update OPERA contact database at all times
  • Stay updated on MICE industry trends, competitor activity, and market demands to identify new opportunities
  • Participate in trade shows, networking events, and sales missions to represent the hotel and strengthen market presence
  • Prepare regular sales reports, activity summaries, and forecasting updates for management
  • Ensure presentation materials, proposals, and communications reflect the brand’s standards
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in business / hospitality management or relevant qualification
  • At least 2 years solid experience in similar capacity, preferably in luxury hospitality field, resort experience will be a plus
  • Guest-focused and ability to build rapport with clients
  • Results driven and goal-oriented
  • Great negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
