Postdoctoral Fellow
Job Description
A Postdoctoral fellow position is available at the Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (KCGEB), United Arab Emirates University to study the interaction of gene-specific transcription factors with mediator subunits and long non‑coding RNAs (lncRNAs) with nuclear proteins, which is one of the critical mechanisms for mediator and lncRNAs to perform multiple essential functions. The successful candidate will use a multidisciplinary approach, combining cell biology (confocal microscopy), computational biology, plant genetics (generating mutants and/or transgenic lines) and proteomics techniques (protein interaction) in exploring the role of MED subunits and lncRNAs in plant architectures and stress resilience.
Furthermore, the successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the research in plant‑microbe interactions using multidisciplinary techniques.
PhD with two‑year Experience
Preferred QualificationPhD with two‑year Experience or more
Expected SkillsWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced PhD with strong expertise in molecular biology (Plant over-expression, RNAi/ CRISPR‑Cas9 vector construction) with experience in Protein‑protein interaction. He/she should have strong troubleshooting skills and a publication record in peer‑reviewed journals. The knowledge in computational biology will be additional asset.
