Senior SAR Researcher

We are seeking a Senior SAR Researcher to join the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) and contribute to the activities of our Electromagnetic Sensing Division

Lead advanced research in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) signal processing and imaging, developing novel algorithms and AI-driven models for high-quality SAR data analysis and real-world applications, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful research outputs and operational solutions.

• Conduct advanced research in SAR data processing, including signal processing and imaging techniques.
• Develop and implement novel algorithms for SAR analysis (noise reduction, feature extraction, object detection, classification).
• Develop back-projection algorithms for SAR processing, including machine-learning-based approaches.
• Design and develop AI models tailored to radar data processing to improve detection accuracy and analytical efficiency.

• Apply machine learning and deep learning techniques to enhance SAR applications.
• Collaborate with data scientists and partners to refine and optimize models for large-scale SAR dataset.

• Apply SAR data to real-world problems such as flood mapping, forest monitoring, and urban development.
• Work collaboratively with project team members.
• Participate in multidisciplinary technical discussions within DERC.
• Prepare results, technical documentation, and project reports.
• Publish research outcomes in relevant journals and conferences.
• Perform other duties related to the position as required.

• Education: Ph.D. or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Geospatial Science, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 3 years of working experience in an R&D department (or similar environment) directly related to SAR and EM remote sensing.
• Language Proficiency: Good level of English (speaking and writing).
