Understanding their impacts on plant–microbe interaction, plant health and ecosystem sustainability”, hosted at the Department of Integrative Agriculture, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (CAVM), UAE University. This interdisciplinary project addresses important global challenges related to emerging contaminants (ECs) including microplastics, PFAS, antibiotics, and pharmaceuticals and their impacts on soil and rhizosphere microbiomes, plant health, and ecosystem sustainability, with a strong focus on arid and water-scarce agricultural systems.
Qualification
- PhD in Microbial Ecology, Environmental Microbiology, Plant Biology, or related fields
- Experience in soil/rhizosphere microbiome research and molecular techniques
- Strong analytical, writing, and teamwork skills
- Proven or emerging publication record
- Design and conduct soil–plant–microbe experiments involving biosolids and ECs
- Perform microbiome and molecular analyses (DNA/RNA extraction, sequencing-based approaches)
- Assess microbial functional responses and plant physiological traits
- Integrate and analyze complex datasets using statistical, bioinformatics tools and machine learning
- Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences
- Supervise graduate students and collaborate within a multidisciplinary research team
- Experience with emerging contaminants or ecotoxicology
