The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring that high-quality patient care is delivered efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Staff Management- Supervise and provide leadership to nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of patient‑centred care.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching, support, and professional development opportunities for staff.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage scheduling, taking into account patient care needs and budget constraints.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
- Ensure that nursing practices align with evidence‑based standards and organizational protocols.
- Monitor patient outcomes and address any concerns related to patient care or satisfaction.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and nursing practices.
- Oversee infection control measures, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, management, and patients/families.
- Communicate effectively to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that arise.
- Assist in budget planning and resource allocation to ensure efficient and cost‑effective use of materials and supplies.
- Monitor and control departmental expenses to remain within budget.
- Stay current with nursing practices, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
- Promote ongoing education and training for nursing staff to ensure continuous improvement in patient care delivery.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Masters in Nursing (MSN) or related field preferred. - Licensure:
Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State]. - Experience:
Minimum of [X] years of clinical nursing experience, with at least [X] years in a supervisory or leadership role. - Skills:
