The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring that high-quality patient care is delivered efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Staff Management
  • Supervise and provide leadership to nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of patient‑centred care.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching, support, and professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage scheduling, taking into account patient care needs and budget constraints.
Patient Care
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
  • Ensure that nursing practices align with evidence‑based standards and organizational protocols.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and address any concerns related to patient care or satisfaction.
Compliance & Quality Control
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies.
  • Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and nursing practices.
  • Oversee infection control measures, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, management, and patients/families.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that arise.
Financial & Resource Management
  • Assist in budget planning and resource allocation to ensure efficient and cost‑effective use of materials and supplies.
  • Monitor and control departmental expenses to remain within budget.
Professional Development
  • Stay current with nursing practices, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Promote ongoing education and training for nursing staff to ensure continuous improvement in patient care delivery.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Masters in Nursing (MSN) or related field preferred.
  • Licensure:
    Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State].
  • Experience:

    Minimum of [X] years of clinical nursing experience, with at least [X] years in a supervisory or leadership role.
