Position Summary
The position is based at KRE8+, an applied research and development center under HCT, specializing in smart sensor–integrated systems for industrial applications. KRE8+ supports industry partners by delivering high‑tech, practical solutions through applied research, offering specialized expertise, advanced equipment, and collaborative project execution.
The primary objective of this role is to lead applied research and development activities in applied computer vision for industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong research background combined with practical industry experience in designing and implementing cutting‑edge computer vision solutions.
Strategic ResponsibilitiesStrengthen KRE8+’s reputation as a leading applied research center for industrial applications.
- Lead applied research and development initiatives in applied computer vision for industry use cases.
- Conduct advanced research in applied computer vision to support industry-driven projects.
- Develop innovative industrial applications based on computer vision technologies.
- Provide practical implementation support for KRE8+ projects requiring computer vision solutions.
- Advise and assist faculty on best practices related to applied computer vision.
- Propose meaningful and relevant sophomore project topics for HCT students in the domain of computer vision.
- Contribute to the development of academic course materials related to applied computer vision.
PhD (preferred) or Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in AI, IoT, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated track record in researching and developing computer vision products for industrial applications.
- Experience in both academic research and industrial environments is highly desirable.
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience in implementing computer vision solutions.
- Experience collaborating with research organizations and industry partners to drive innovation.
- Strong hands‑on expertise with AI and computer vision tools and frameworks, such as OpenCV, PyTorch, Python, YOLOv8, and Roboflow.
- Ability to lead the end-to‑end development of computer vision products—from concept to production.
- Proven ability to work independently and to lead or mentor teams.
