Role PurposeThe Senior Manufacturing Technician focuses on line support & acts as point of contact between the manufacturing Engineering & production team. Responsible for qualification of FAIs on the CNC machine in line with the estimated cycle time & successful handover to production.
Duties and Responsibilities- Review and contribute to the conceptualisation and development of advanced tooling and fixture solutions for complex manufacturing requirements
- Strategically optimise CNC machining processes to drive continuous improvement, leveraging high‑performance industrial tools and data‑driven methodologies.
- Implement the best practices formulated by the engineering team, integrating Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to minimise waste and variability
- Ensure that all processes and procedures in Manufacturing adhere to the customer and quality standards
- Train CNC operators by providing functional guidance on the machining process, identifying development needs and supporting them with relevant training
- Analyse the PMD, technical specifications, and complex instructions to define high‑efficiency programming architectures and production sequences
- Program, configure, and operate multi‑axis CNC machinery to produce high‑precision components, ensuring maximal material yield and alignment with delivery milestones
- Perform precision nesting by calculating and marking reference coordinates on raw materials to serve as definitive guides for machining operation
- Synchronise Numerical Control (NC) programmes and execute precise tool offset calibrations based on technical work instructions and specialised tool configurations.
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specification, make necessary adjustments to produce the desired result
- Complete the quality requirements for the specific process as per the industrialisation plan
- Use various measuring equipment such as indicators, calipers, gauges, etc., to assure output matches the engineering standards to the precision level; maintain the equipment in good condition
- 5 years of experience as CAM & line programmer & setter on CNC machines in defence/aerospace/oil & gas manufacturing environment.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience in CNC machine set‑up and operations.
