Underwriter, Insurance

We are currently seeking a Underwriter for one of our very well-known client, to be based in their Abu Dhabi office.

• Assess, evaluate, and underwrite complex insurance risks in accordance with company guidelines, underwriting authority, and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial statements, loss histories, risk surveys, and other relevant data to determine appropriate coverage terms, pricing, and conditions.
• Review and approve underwriting decisions made by junior underwriters, providing guidance and technical support when needed.
• Ensure underwriting profitability by maintaining an appropriate balance between risk exposure and premium income.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and key clients to support business growth and retention.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers and clients while safeguarding the company’s risk appetite.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
• Mentor, train, and coach junior underwriting staff to enhance technical skills and professional development.
• Prepare underwriting reports, referrals, and presentations for management as required.

• Bachelor Degree in Insurance, Commerce, Finance or a related field is required
• 2-3 years of Experience in related field
• Ability to adapt in the company environment.
