Job Purpose

The VP – Business Intelligence & Analytics is a senior, hands‑on leader responsible for designing, building, and scaling the organization’s Business Intelligence and analytics capabilities. This role focuses on delivering highly interactive, executive‑grade dashboards for CxOs while enabling enterprise‑wide self‑service analytics through robust data models, governance, and BI best practices.

You will personally develop Tableau dashboards used by senior leadership, define semantic and data modeling layers that power trusted insights, and advise, mentor, and lead a team of BI developers to deliver consistent, high‑quality analytics across the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain high‑impact, interactive Tableau dashboards for C‑suite executives and senior leadership.
  • Actively optimize performance, usability, and scalability of all business intelligence dashboards and reporting.
  • Architect and roll out self‑service BI capabilities, including governed datasets, certified data sources, and reusable semantic layers.
  • Define BI standards, templates, and best practices that empower business users while maintaining governance and data quality.
  • Drive BI adoption and analytics literacy across business functions.
  • Design and maintain advanced analytical data models (star, snowflake, and hybrid models) optimized for BI consumption.
  • Write advanced SQL and Python to support complex transformations, calculations, and analytical logic.
  • Lead, advise, and mentor junior BI developers, providing hands‑on guidance, technical coaching, and regular feedback.
  • Establish development standards, code review practices, and dashboard design guidelines for the BI team.
  • Ensure dashboards and reports are trusted, explainable, and aligned with enterprise definitions.
  • Act as a technical authority for BI platforms, influencing architecture, best practices, and enterprise‑wide metrics.
Related Years Of Experience
  • 8+ years of hands‑on experience in Business Intelligence, analytics engineering, or data analytics roles.
  • Proven experience delivering executive‑level dashboards for CxOs and senior leadership, with a focus on clarity, storytelling, and decision support.
  • Demonstrated success rolling out self‑service BI capabilities at enterprise scale, including governed datasets, certified metrics, and semantic layers.
  • Deep expertise with Tableau (Desktop, Server/Cloud), including advanced dashboard design, performance tuning, and scalable deployment.
  • Strong experience designing and maintaining analytical and dimensional data models (star, snowflake, hybrid).
  • Hands‑on experience leading, mentoring, or acting as a technical authority for BI teams, while remaining actively involved in dashboard development.

Technical and Interpersonal Skills
  • Expert‑level Tableau skills, including advanced calculations, parameters, LOD expressions, and dashboard performance optimization.
  • Advanced SQL for analytics, metric logic, and complex transformations; strong Python skills for data preparation, advanced analytics, and BI automation.
  • Deep understanding of dimensional modelling and analytics engineering principles.
  • Experience building and managing enterprise semantic layers and governed metric frameworks.
  • Familiarity with modern analytics workflows, including version control for BI assets and CI/CD for analytics.
  • Strong focus on data trust, explainability, and governance, ensuring consistent definitions across dashboards.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including direct interaction with executives.
Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Master’s degree and/or BI/analytics certifications (Tableau, data modelling, analytics engineering) are a plus.
