Head of Data Governance, Security & AI; m/f/d
A leading research and innovation-focused organization is seeking a Head of Data Governance, Security & Responsible AI to establish and oversee enterprise-wide frameworks that ensure the safe, compliant, and ethical use of data and artificial intelligence. The role involves ownership of governance strategy, risk controls, regulatory alignment, and collaboration with senior stakeholders across technology and business functions.
Key Responsibilities- Define data classification, ownership, and access policies
- Establish responsible AI principles and guardrails
- Ensure alignment with UAE data protection, sovereignty, and regulatory requirements
- Review and approve data and AI use cases from a risk and compliance perspective
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure governance is embedded in implementation
- Act as primary interface for audits, security reviews, and governance forums
- 10+ years experience in data governance, security, compliance, or risk
- Experience in regulated or government-adjacent environments
- Strong judgment and credibility with senior stakeholders
- Pragmatic, execution‑aware mindset
